APW Photography: Yosemite National Park
Yosemite Valley, CA
Sunday July 24th-Wednesday June 27th, 2022

A fine-art nude photography event in the vast wilderness of California’s Sierra Nevadas.

Mission Statement

This project will produce a coffeetable book of lovely, artful juxtapositions of the female form with the deep valleys, grand meadows, and ancient giant sequoias of Yosemite National Park. Images will include bodyscapes draped within nature; dynamic movement flanked by waterfalls; and structural/textural compositions with granite cliffs, natural erosion, and the colors of the season. With ample breaks for rest, we will make use of the nature of Yosemite from pristine sunrise to colorful sunset, making symmetries and asymmetries through geometric shapes created by interwoven duos, trios, and larger ensembles of the shoot's participants.

Yosemite National Park

First protected in 1864, Yosemite National Park (wikipedia) (NPS) encompasses nearly 1,200 square miles of exquisite nature.

“No temple made with hands can compare with Yosemite. Every rock in its walls seems to glow with life…as if into this one mountain mansion Nature had gathered her choicest treasures.”
John Muir

"Yosemite is not just a great valley, but a shrine to human foresight, the strength of granite, the power of glaciers, the persistence of life, and the tranquility of the High Sierra."
National Park Service

Environmental fine art nudes

Quick side note: there is not much diversity in regards to ethnicities or body types in my example works above. I wish to change that. Thank you for your understanding.

Fine art nude photography celebrates the figure and form of the human body; it is not lude or crude, instead emphasizing shapes, curves, and emotions. Art nude photography can take many forms, through a studio, a boudoir, or as is our theme for this shoot: juxtaposed with sweeping landscapes and environments. Thus, environmental fine art nude photography places the models in the context of a structure (whether a slot canyon, a great salt lake, or a historical blast furnace!)
